Thanksgiving falls later on the calendar than usual this year, so we have a little extra time to prepare. Whether you’re doing the full Thanksgiving meal or bringing some sides, there’s a lot of prep involved for the holiday, and your regular meal planning can fall by the wayside. However, just because there’s a big holiday coming up, that doesn’t mean you want to abandon your healthy eating habits for the weeks leading up to it. In fact, you want to do just the opposite so you can enjoy the holiday feast without feeling guilty. How do you do that? Easy! Make healthy seafood meals with Nuts Over Fish toppings!
On November 15th, leading up to Thanksgiving, we observe a lesser-known holiday: National Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. When you’re getting ready for Thanksgiving, you need all the space in your fridge you can get. With Nuts Over Fish toppings, you can clear out your fridge and make some tasty meals!

Do a Quick Inventory
The first thing to do is take stock of what’s in your fridge. Separate everything into categories, such as “needs to be cooked,” “needs to be eaten,” “needs to be thrown out.” As much as we hate food waste, sometimes leftovers do sit in your fridge too long and are no longer safe to eat. Once you know what’s in your fridge, you can plan your meals in the lead-up to Thanksgiving and make room for everything you’ll need for holiday cooking.
Plan Out Your Week
Now that you know what’s in your fridge, you can start meal planning. Obviously, if you have any fish you need to cook, grab a package of your Nuts Over Fish topping and cook it! If you have any leftover fish, such as salmon or another fatty fish, you can use it for our tasty pistachio dill salmon salad! We have several recipes on our website that are easy to incorporate into your meal planning. We also have recipe ideas for much more than seafood. We have dressings and marinades that are great for chicken, and our toppings add some zest to your roast veggies. You can even use them for healthy desserts!
